Paternity

The biological father has no rights until adjudicated as the father. The unwed mother has full custody. The mother, however, needs to protect her rights and also obtain child support. So many times the parties agree as to visitation, then mother gets a boyfriend and biological father is not in the picture. Or mother agrees to visitation and biological father gets in a relationship and either demands more time, or is cut out of the picture. A paternity case sets forth custody, visitation, and support so no one person can dictate what the rules are.
